Lemon on French Cloth

Yellow is one of my favorite colors to paint with and I love yellow paired with

 french ultramarine blue. It just says french! It brings back such fond memories

of my 3 week trip to France back in the early 90's.

It was unusual to see two men out fishing in a rowboat. I captured the reference photo with my mobile phone.  I loved the way the afternoon sun was illuminating them from the west shore.

Mt. Mariah Sunset, Hubbard Lake, Michigan

This lovely spot holds dear memories for many who love Hubbard Lake, MI. 

The resident who purchased this original oil painting shared her family has been enjoying the lake since the 1920's.  She used to ski down the slope of Mt. Mariah in the day when it was a ski resort and would stop at that tree to enjoy the view. Connecting with those who purchase my work and why they purchase it fills me with joy.
