30 in 30 Day 3 "The Loon" by Susie Morrell

Labor Day Weekend..  I wanted to stretch summer so pulled out some home videos of past summers at the lake.. I'm a 'lake girl' and at the cabin my parents own, we sleep on a wonderful wrap around porch. At night, if it is very quiet, you can hear the loons call.

Northern Black Bear

With summer comes memories of our trips to the lake.  This year I will continue to collaborate on the children's book series my mother, Carole LaFlamme Beighey is writing called "The Waddodles of Hollow Lake".  She is currently on book number six where Big Casey, the northern black bear, is a main character.  The inspiration for the painting below came from studies I am doing for her next book cover.

Art in the Loft Summer View 2013 Exhibit

I will be in Michigan next week! If you are in the area, Come out next Thursday May 23rd 5:30 - 7:30 for the Opening reception for Summer View 2013 Exhibit at Art in the Loft in Alpena.  I will be there along with other artists to meet and discuss the works of art chosen for this year's show.  Join me and others in celebrating the Arts in Michigan!
