The month of May is the Lilly of the Valley
This beautifully fragrant flower makes me think of mothers.... my mother, my grandmother, mothers I have been blessed to know.  Always blooming at Mother's Day, my mother would pick a bunch to put inside by the kitchen sink where she spent most of her time feeding a family of eight.  The role reversed and as I cared for my mother in her last years, I would bring her a bunch to put by her side.  Funny how fragrances remind you of memories.  She had lots of them to share <3
To all the moms out there, I wanted to share one of the videos I look at during this special time of year that celebrates motherhood.  Click Transcending: Words on Women and Strength

The flower of the month of April is the Daisy!
"He Loves Me He Loves Ne Not"is a game of French origin in which one person seeks to determine whether the object of their affection returns that affection. A person playing the game alternately
speaks the phrase "He Loves Me" and "He Loves Me Not" while picking a petal off a flower for each phrase.  The phrase they speak on picking off the last petal supposedly represents the truth between the object of their affection loving them or not.

The month of March is the daffodil.

"How does the Meadow flower its bloom unfold?
Because the lovely little flower is free down to its root, and in that freedom bold"
~ William Wordsworth

The flower for the month of February according to the Almanac is Violets.
The violet can signify Modesty and Humility and is often looked upon as a sign of innocence.
Bunches of violets were used as gifts for newlyweds. Here in northern Michigan
they are just starting to pop up!
