A recent original oil painting commission of a lovely historical cottage on Hubbard Lake, Michigan called the "Honeymoon Cottage".  This authentic log cabin sits on the east shore down by the waters edge where the rhythmic lapping of water can be heard while watching the sun set each evening. 
So romantic!   
The couple who currently own the property where this cottage sits commissioned this 
painting for their main residence.

Sunflowers for Safe Haven: Helping Ukrainian Refugees

I am painting more sunflowers and here's why: The church I attend, Fresh Water Bible Church sponsors missionaries in Romania, a bordering country of Ukraine currently being invaded by Russia. Thousands of Ukrainian refugees mostly women and children are fleeing the country of Ukraine since this senseless invasion and are desperate for shelter and food. Our missionaries can host up to sixty refugees. We were made aware women and children are starting to arrive. They need help, supplies, food, medication, formula. The national flower of Ukraine is the sunflower. So for every sunflower painting I sell I’m donating 100% of the proceeds to our missionaries in Romania giving women and children a safe haven until they have the supplies they need or can return to their country and homes again.

   "European Chub"

A Chub is a European species of freshwater fish in the carp family. It can be found in both slow and moderate rivers.  This species is referred to as the common chub, European chub, or simply chub.  Thank you Bartha Geri for the great reference photo.  "Snow Moon"

February 16(today), 2022 is the Snow Moon and it will join a cluster of planets lighting up the morning sky.  Being on the east shore I am fortunate enough to see the sun rise and moon rise. From my window I hear the ice plates groaning as they move on the lake. It's especially mysterious at night.  It is almost as if the lake is saying "I'm so tired of winter"  
This is Hubbard Lake located about 20 miles south of Alpena, MI in the northeastern part of the state.

Give a gift from the heART ❤️ for Valentine's Day

 I am excited to share some good news! 

My original oil paintings have been accepted into the juried gallery of the Thunder Bay Arts Council located at 127 W. Chisholm Street in Alpena, MI 

I will be displaying over 20 of my small 6 x 6 original oil paintings and the display will keep changing as the paintings sell.  Each painting is available for $125.00 and includes the cherry wood easel it sits on.  

The gallery is a collection of more than 20 artists of the region in all kinds of 2 and 3 dimensional mediums. The gallery is open Wednesday - Saturday 11:00am - 5:00pm.   I will be working in the gallery on Friday February 25th.  Come in and say hello!
