Conversations with Philadelphia's Radical Traditionalists Neslon Shanks and Patrick Connors
©2013 Patrick Connors & Nelson Shanks
In a rare appearance together, Patrick Connors and Nelson Shanks shared their ideas and views for the future of representational art. Thanks to the Franklin Inn Club of Philadelphia and the Institute of Classical Art and Architecture participants witnessed the great artistic minds of these two artists discuss their deep belief in the continuity of the Classical Tradition of oil painting.

My recent version of The Old Library on Lake Afton in Yardley, PA.
In the 1870's the citizens of Yardleyville erected a library building on land donated by the heirs of William Yardley who settled in the area in 1682 on land purchased from William Penn. The Yardleyville Library was completed in 1878. The building's style, known as "carpenter" Gothic, features a steep gable roof, decorative slate work, and pointed arched windows. The design was possibly copied from an old volume of poetry.

I just love the colors in this fish that is abundant in the fresh water Michigan lakes.
Vacationing at Hubbard Lake, Michigan as a young girl, we would always go fishing after dinner and come in at dusk with strings of perch. My uncle would clean them and store them in the freezer. Once we had enough to feed the family, my mother would dredged them in pancake flour and fry them up in a cast iron skillet. We would sit on the screened in porch on warm summer evenings and enjoy the best fish dinner in the world!
